Riotbones is a queer Filipino illustrator and comic artist with a passion for all things haunting, dark, and tender—anything that celebrates the euphoria and devastation of the human condition. Bones holds a master’s degree with distinction in critical and cultural theory from the University of Leeds and graduated summa cum laude and as the class valedictorian from the College of Fine Arts in 2022 at the University of the Philippines Diliman.
They worked for Adarna House’s comics imprint and Anino Comics and have self-published several short comics: The AO-33 Nebula, Nest, Homecoming, The Body from the River, and War and the Maiden. Specializing in narrative work and illustration, they’ve worked for magazines, video games, books, and TTRPGS, having collaborated with clients such as Dark Horse Comics and DANGEN Entertainment. Their debut graphic novel Strange Cases, a gothic horror-legal drama set in an alternate universe 19th-century colonial Philippines, will be published by Andrews McMeel on October 13, 2026. Outside of illustration, they are also a longtime activist and journalist, participating in solidarity events and writing about the ongoing struggles of marginalized communities in the Philippines.
